I got a Free DID from IP Communications [1], which includes free inbound calling. Then I take advantage of Google Voice callback (via Xinlu's Google Voice Callback app), which turns outbound calling into free inbound calling. I set up Google Voice to forward incoming calls to both my cell and DID, and Sipdroid is active whenever I'm on wifi. So at home and on campus I can make voice calls without using cell airtime. This makes the Virgin Mobile 300 minute plan pretty tough to beat, and saves me a considerable amount of money over Verizon.
Latency seems to be a bit of an issue, but voice quality is more than sufficient. I couldn't get 3CXPhone to work at all, and Sipdroid seems a bit better than CSipSimple. Great overview of the SIP/VoIP ecosystem at [2].
